Today was the Commemoration of our patron, Mar Abba the Great, and on it Bishop Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, with Mar Bawai Soro attending along with all the priests in San Diego, blessed the chapel at our Institute.

All of our parents attended as well as some of the special benefactors. The night began with all of us in the chapel for the blessing of the altar. Bishop Sarhad led a beautiful ceremony in blessing the altar along with all the priests in attendance. It was amazing to finally see that we had an altar to celebrate the Eucharist, to prepare us to celebrate the Eucharist ourselves in the future. After the blessing ceremony, we went to the classroom where we had dinner with everyone in attendance. It was a wonderful night and we were all very happy and joyful to see our new place of worship come together so beautifully.
